In plain words

  • Boclar uses its own cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your language.
  • Boclar uses analytics cookies from Amplitude to learn how it is used. They are always on.
  • Stripe sets cookies on payment screens to prevent fraud.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. They let a site remember you between pages and visits, for example that you are signed in. This page also covers the similar storage in your browser that Boclar uses in the same way.

2. Cookies we use

CookieWhyTypeLasts
boclar_sessionKeeps you signed in to BoclarStrictly necessaryUntil you close your browser, or 30 days if you choose “Remember me”

Strictly necessary cookies are needed for Boclar to work, so they can’t be turned off. For the same reason Boclar keeps a few similar items in your browser, such as your cookie choice, the details you save on a booking page and your settings in the app. Analytics cookies are always on and help us understand how Boclar is used, so we can improve it.

3. Cookies from other companies

  • Stripe sets cookies on payment and checkout screens to process payments and prevent fraud.
  • Google and Apple may set cookies when you choose to sign in with them.
  • Amplitude, our product analytics service, sets cookies whose names start with AMP_ to recognise a returning visitor. Sentry, our error monitoring service, works without cookies.

4. On booking pages

Booking pages use the language cookies above. While you book, they hold the time you picked, and they keep the bookings and contact details you use on your own device so you can book faster next time. You can remove them under Saved details. Booking pages don’t use analytics.

5. How to control cookies

A banner tells you about our cookies on your first visit, and Cookie settings at the bottom of every page shows them again. Boclar’s cookies are always on: the strictly necessary ones make it work, and the analytics ones are how we learn what to improve.

You can also see and delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, you won’t be able to sign in.

6. Changes and contact

We update this page when the cookies we use change.
